We took a train to Lucerne. From the train:

There were thunderstorms this morning for 30
minutes, then it was cloudy. It cleared
up by mid-day. It was hot and humid most
days in Lucerne. The hotel was in a great spot, right in the
middle of old town. We walked around old
town, saw sights such as the famous KapellBrucke (Chapel Bridge),
with flower boxes all along the bridge and swans in the river. The bridge was originally built in 1333 a part of the town fortifications We ate lunch in old town.
Paul walked along the old wall, and climbed
the three towers that are open, for a good view of the city, lake, and river.
There was a music festival going on, where musicians
and singers would have street performances. We stopped and listened to some of them.
And went out at night to take more pictures:
