We explored the charming
little town of Gimmelwald,
which has kept the tourist development away by having the town and area designated as a landslide/avalance zone. The town’s people adhere to traditional ways
of raising cows and goats and producing goods.

Later, Mary and Paul took the train/cable car down to
Lauterbrunnen, and walked to the other end of the valley to Strechelberg to
catch a cable car back up to Mürren. Mary
and Paul ate lunch on the main street of Lauterbrunnen. Phyllis had lunch in Mürren.
Lauterbrunnen:
Staubbach falls just outside Lauterbrunnen:
Walked Lauterbrunnen valley:
and visited Trummelbach Falls,
which has ten falls inside the mountain, accessible via tunnels, caverns, stairs,
and a lift. The falls capture water from the ice fields on the Mönch, Eiger and Jungfrau mountains, which results in the huge flow of water. Quite incredible.
