then a gondola up the side of the valley wall, train to Mürren.  It was raining as we left, but stopped before we got to Mürren.  It was still very cloudy, however.  We had great weather after that except for one afternoon thunderstorm.

We had lunch and dinner at the hotel, looking out at the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains.  The Mönch (monk) is preventing the Eiger (ogre) from grabbing the Jungfrau (maiden).

Mürren is on a 2,000 foot ledge overlooking the valley.
We walked around town.

When we were unpacking, Paul could not find the case with the power adapters.  Paul looked in all his luggage twice, and even emptied the backpack the case should have been in, and then put things back.  Then Mary looked in that backpack, and there it was!  Previously Mary had looked everywhere as we were packing and could not find her pill box, but when Paul looked in the drawer she had already looked in, there it was!  And previous to that, Paul could not find the Swiss Rail Pass in the pocket of the backpack it should have been – again Paul had emptied it and put things back, and again when Mary looked, there it was!  Obviously some magic was at work, or old age is getting to us.  Either way, very spooky.
